Sweet Baby Party Mix

15 Servings

Ingredients:

5 cups of Shreddies cereal

5 cups of Life cereal

2 cups of sugared almonds

3 cups of small pretzels

1 cup of brown sugar

7 tablespoons of butter

3 ½ tablespoons of corn syrup

1 cup dried cherries

1 cup raisins

Directions:

Combine sugar, butter and syrup in a pot and bring to a boil.  Let boil for about 5 minutes.  While this is boiling combine cereals, pretzels and almonds in a bowl and set to the side.  Pour the hot mixture over the dry ingredients.  Place entire mixture on a cookie sheet and bake at 300 degrees for 15 minutes.  Add dried cherries and raisins after mixture has cooled off.  This one is a great baby shower appetizer to set in the center of the room.  This gives your shower guests something to snack on during gift opening and while playing some of the baby shower games.

Baby Shrimp Mushroom Caps

12 Servings (2 mushrooms each)

Ingredients:

24 large mushrooms

1 cup of shredded imitation crap

1 cup of baby shrimps

½ cup of green onions

2 cloves of garlic

¼ cup of butter

1/3 cup of fine bread crumbs

½ cup of shredded aged cheddar cheese

Directions:

Clean mushrooms and remove stems.  Combine green onions, garlic, baby shrimp and shredded imitation crab and butter and sauté until tender.  Remove from heat and add cheese and breadcrumbs, stir and spoon the mixture into the mushroom caps.  Place on a cookie sheet and bake at 425 degrees for about 8 minutes.  Mushroom caps are a favourite…perfect to serve at baby showers.

Baby Quesadillas

12 Servings

Ingredients:

6 8 inch flour tortillas

3 cups of shredded cheese

2 cups of ground beef

5 tablespoons of diced green Chile peppers

4 tablespoons of diced green onions

1 cup of salsa

Directions:

Combine ground beef, green onions and chile peppers in a frying pan and cook until meat is cooked all of the way through.  Sprinkle cheese, salsa and the meat mixture over half of a tortilla.  Fold the tortilla in half.  Cook each folded tortilla in a frying pan for about 2-3 minutes (until cheese is melted).  Place on a cookie sheet and keep warm in the oven (about 250 degrees).  When you are ready to serve them cut them into baby wedges and serve with chopped tomatoes.  These can be spicy so be careful that kids and babies don’t get a hold of them.  Also warn your baby shower guests that they may be spicy, just in case someone cannot eat spicy foods.
