Shower Invitations: Your Guide to Writing the Best Shower
Invitations!

If
you planning a baby shower, than the first things you need to think
about are your
guest list and your baby shower invitations. Many people
invite their shower guests via telephone these days, however, if you
really want your shower to stand out among the rest it is an excellent
idea to send out invitations. Invitations are meaningful, they make the
guests feel special, and not to mention they act as friendly reminders
so that your guests do not forget the date and time of the baby shower.
You can buy your invitations from a party decorations store, greeting
card store, dollar store, drug store, grocery store, or at an outlet
store such as Wal-Mart, Zellers, or Toys R Us. If you are feeling
creative you can make some of these
unique baby shower invitations. Or
if you are on a rather tight budget and are looking for a cheaper way to
invite your guests you can
create your own shower invitations and write
baby shower poems on the front or inside of them. Regardless of the
method you choose it is imperative that your invitations contain the
following information:
·
The name
of the guest or guests of honour. If you are holding a
co-ed shower
make sure you name the mother and the father on your invitation. This
will entice your male guests to come.
·
The
hostesses name. I assume that since you are reading this that you are
the person holding the shower. It is a good idea to include your name
so that the guests no who is in charge of the event.
·
The date
you are holding the shower, and your address, or the address of the
location that you are holding it at.
·
The time
the shower is starting. If you would like the shower to be over by
specific time then it is also a good idea for you to put the
approximated time the shower will end, for example: 1:00 p.m. to 4:30
p.m. shows that the shower will wrap up shortly before supper. Please
keep in mind that if the shower is being held on a weekday it is
important to hold it in the evening in order to accommodate to your
working guest’s schedules.
·
How the
shower guests should R.S.V.P. to the invitation. This could include
sending a reply via e-mail, telephone, or even postal.
You want to make
sure that you send your invitations out to your guests at least three to
four weeks before the date of the baby shower. If you are holding the
shower on a weekend it is a good idea to give your guests even more
notice so that they can pencil it in their calendars, as I am sure you
know how quickly weekends can fill up.
