Baby Shower Game

A mind testing baby shower game is sure to get your guests interacting!

Below are some games that are meant to get the players thinking!

It is always fun to plan a baby shower game that requires your guests to use their memory, guess or predict something.  Thinking games can really bring out the competitiveness amongst your guests.  It is a great way to get people talking, laughing and having fun.

Guess the Size of Mom’s Belly

See who can guess the size of your guest of honour's belly.  This one is a lot of fun to play.  It is fun to watch how people strategize, and there theory of how to correctly guess mom’s belly size.  Pass around a roll of toilet paper, or ribbon and have guests take a guess at how big mom’s belly is.  They show the length of their guess by tearing off the appropriate amount of toilet paper or ribbon.  Once everyone has taken a guess have them measure her belly with the toilet paper or ribbon.  Whoever is the closest without going over wins the game!  You may want to reward the three closest guesses.

Memory Test

Find 10-15 small baby related items such as a pacifier, bottle, rattle, wet-wipes, and diaper cream.  Place them either on a tray or in the center of the coffee table covered with a towel or blanket.  Uncover the items for 1-2 minutes and let the players try to memorize them all.  Cover them back up and…on your marks, get set, go!  Ask your players to write down as many as the items that they can remember as fast as they can.  Give them 1 minute and call time.  The winner is either the person who gets them all correct first, or the one who has the highest number of correct answers after their time is up.

Baby Pool

This can be a betting game, where your guests place a wager on their guess, or it can just be in good fun.  Have all guests take a guess at 1) the day baby will be born, 2) baby’s gender, and 3) baby’s weight.  Document the guesses on a large piece of construction paper.  If people wish to place a wager on their guess, than collect the money and put all of the money in a jar.  Count the money after all bets are made and tell the group the total amount of money that is in the jar.  Half of the money should go to the new parents and the other half will go to the winner.  The winner is the person who is the closest in all 3 areas.  Make sure you have all of the guests’ phone numbers so that you can phone the person who one once the baby is born.

Don’t Cross your Legs

Test everyone’s memory in this game.  It is super easy to play; all you need is a clothes pin per guest.  Hand out a clothes pin to each guest and ask them to peg it to their clothing in a place that is visible for all to see.  Tell everyone that they are not allowed to cross their legs.  If someone crosses her legs and another person calls her on it, the person who catches her gets her clothes pin.  The competitor with the most clothes pins at the end of the baby shower wins!

Brand Test

Make a list of baby item brand names such as Nuk, Desitin, Pampers, Playtex, and ask all contestants to write down what the baby item is beside the brand name.  I recommend that you take a trip to a local grocery store or department store with a pen and pencil, and make a list of items yourself.  Don’t forget to write down the answers, with such a long list you could forget yourself.
