Baby shower favors are an excellent way for you to wow your guests. This page will help you to come up with the best party favors for your unique baby shower. Ultimately, you want your favors to complement the theme you have chosen for the shower, so let’s start there.

When trying to decide on the best shower favors to make or buy consider the following:

Why did you choose the theme you have chosen? Was it a unique quality (personality trait, hobby, etc.) of the mother that helped you establish the theme? If so, play on that unique attribute and purchase (or make) favors that will remind your guests of their friend’s (or relative’s) uniqueness.
Are the majority of your guests the same age, or do they have something in common. For example, do the majority of your guests already have children? If so you can purchase a favor that would be useful for them, or something that they all can relate to.
If you have chosen to run with a “common” baby shower theme then you may want to spice up your theme with unique baby shower party favors. Give your guests something that will help them remember the celebration.

With so much to plan and organize before throwing a baby shower it is easy to let certain details slip your mind. Please remember that providing your guests with party favors is a small detail that you do not want to forget. Not only will the favors help make the celebration memorable, but it is a kind gesture to say thank-you to your guests for attending your party. Here are some baby shower favor ideas:

· Picture Frames – purchase plain wooden picture frames from the dollar store. Paint and glue decorations (buttons, flowers, etc.) to them. Paint the mother’s name on it, and if the baby is born you can paint the baby’s name on it as well. If you have a Polaroid or digital camera take pictures throughout the event and either give them to your guests as they are leaving or send them the photos via email. This way they can put a picture of the shower in the frame. This is my favourite party favor idea!

· Flower seeds – attach a poem to packet of seeds. Giving your guests a packet of seeds is symbolic. They will plant their seeds and watch them grow just as the new mother will watch her baby grow.

· Small plant – if the baby is already born give your guests a small plant with a photo of the baby on the plant stake.

· Candles – you can find so many candles that are suitable for a baby shower favor: bottle shaped candles, pacifier shaped candles, baby booties shaped candles, and teddy bear shaped candles, to name only a few.

· Chocolates and candies – you can even purchase or make personalized wrappers for your candies or chocolates. This is another favorite of mine; my husband and I purchased Hershey’s Chocolate Bars and made our own wrappers for the chocolate bars for our wedding favors.

· Baby or child’s toy – this is a good idea if your guests all have children

· Potpourri

· Bath soaps, bubble bath, or other bathing luxury items.

· Magnets

· Gift certificates

If your baby shower budget does not allocate sufficient funds towards providing these gifts for your guests, I suggest you put on your crafty hat and make the gifts.

Bake some cookies and give out little “goody bags” full of cookies.
Fill emptied baby food jars with candies. Tie a ribbon around the neck of the jar with a poem attached.
Candies wrapped in pink or blue netting.
